CARBON: THE RIGHT ANSWER
The production philosophy adopted at ROESCH
focuses on making use of the technologies and materials used
in race cars to produce brake pads with superior quality and
performance designed for use on all production cars and competition
vehicles.
Many years of research have given ROESCH extensive
experience in the field of materials for high-temperature
applications; carbon fibres are used for all its products.
The development and improvement of these materials
have made it possible to create products which offer top performance
right from the first brake application, without the need for
pre-heating the pads and the brakes, as required by recent
European safety legislation.
In addition, carbon provides excellent braking
performance at high temperatures (above 700°C); organic and
inorganic materials provide a high coefficient of friction
(higher than 0.56 in some competition models). Other components
are used to ensure uniform thermal transfer throughout the
pad, and a high-ductility material which constantly adapts
to the surface of the disc, thus assuring perfectly uniform
contact. All these features prevent local overheating and
friction variations, as well as thermal distortion of the
discs. The compound is completed by microparticle elements
which, in combination with special thermal treatments, create
a superbly efficient brake pad in which, at every brake application,
the pad surface is renewed and maintains its grip, dissipates
the heat produced by braking and significantly reduces fade.
ROESCH brake pads are asbestos free.
